Teach Us to Pray Pt. 2 | January 14, 2023 21 Days of Prayer Pastor Wes Morris Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV) Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. YOUR KINGDOM COME ✓ I’m inviting God’s will into my world. Matthew 6:33 (NLT) Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. ✓ I’m believing for darkness to be destroyed. Colossians 1:13-14 (TLB) For he has rescued us out of the darkness and gloom of Satan’s kingdom and brought us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who bought our freedom with his blood and forgave us all our sins. ✓ I’m living with eternity in mind. THROUGH ME Colossians 1:27 (MSG) This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it’s out in the open. God wanted everyone to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you. Matthew 6:10 (KJV) Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. I. A HEART OF SURRENDER. Mark 1:15 (NIV) The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” Galatians 2:20 (NIV) I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. II. A PASSION TO BE MORE LIKE JESUS. Ephesians 5:1-2 (MSG) Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.

Teach Us to Pray Pt. 1 | January 7, 2023 Luke 11:1-4 (NIV) One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Prayer isn’t just for those closest to Him. Prayer is for everyone. Matthew 6:5-13 (NIV) - “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.'" ✓ Some want something different. ✓ Some worry about what others think. ✓ Some pray what they think God wants to hear. HONEST PRAYERS I. II. BE PRESENT WITH WHAT'S PRESENT III. START WITH WHAT'S HONEST Matthew 6:8 (NIV) Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
